There is also a supermarket (ALDI) directly opposite the house. There are also other local amenities close by and a golf course and pub within 5 minutes walk.

FROM EDINBURGH AIRPORT:
From right outside the main entrance of the airport, you can take the airport shuttle bus called the AIRLINK 100 to Edinburgh City.
The Airlink 100 will take you to Edinburgh Waverley train station (Waverley Bridge). When you get off, walk up to the top of the street and you will be on Princes street.
Turn right and walk all the way straight down to the end of that road. You will pass the Balmoral Hotel (which will be on your right) and then arrive at a crossing with traffic lights. Cross the road at the lights and turn right and walk UP the bridge to the second bus stop in the centre of the bridge.
Wait there for a bus number 3 or 29 or 8 (if you are arriving after 11:30pm in the evening, wait for a NIGHT BUS - N3) to Gilmerton. Tell the driver you need to get off at the ALDI supermarket (after Liberton High School) on Gilmerton Road. When you get off the bus, on your left will be AVW MOTORS, cross the small road in front of you and we are the first house on the corner with black gate and green door. We are on the main road, directly opposite the ALDI supermarket. It will take approx 20 mins from the city.

Very Friendly and kind people.
Our time in the Christian Homestay war really great. Everything there was very clean and the family of Jannet very friendly and helpful. They do a great missionary and social job with poor women and kids in this area and do it with all their heart. Our room was fine and we had a wonderful breakfast bufet in the morning with cereals, fruits, toast, jam, tea, coffee, eggs,... There is a bus stop in front of the house. We needed only 15 minutes into the centre of Edinburgh and had to pay only 3,50 for the whole day. Jannets daughter gave us good advice where to go and what to see. Thank you very much for everything! We hope to see you again.
Very friendly, kind host. The renting is partly supporting a social project. Rooms are simple but clean and sufficiant. Bus in Front of the house. We recommand it for travellers! Thank you!
Good location, though far from center, but well connected by public transport. Average room for a low cost, with no room for luggage that must be grounded. The noise of the bathroom that leaked kept me awake several hours. Negative notes: never be a change of towels in 3 days of stay, poor breakfast (butter and jam, sometimes 1 yogurt or fruit) with difficulty finding a place to sit in the 45 minute disposizione.Bisogna wash the dishes yourself as well as dispose of waste from the room at departure. I asked to print a sheet ..I am and was sent to find in center. I asked for a change of money for the bus ..... and I was sent to find at the supermarket. Mah .....
Mah.....
We spent 3 amazing days with Jannet, Aareeva and his family. Your welcome, their hospitability and attention was spectacular. Hope to see you soon. Saludossss
Pasamos 3 días increíbles con Jannet,Aareeva y su familia. Su bienvenida, su hospitabilidad y atención fue espectacular. Esperemos volver a verlos pronto. Saludossss
Very helpful staff but one thing to share,
flooring not very stable and comfortable.
It was a wonderful experience staying in their home.
People are very helpful, flexible and lovely very clean and tidy the service wasn't less from any big hotel.
Thanks alot Jannet, Alison, Ariva and Sophie for being there for us.
Hope to see you guys again bless you all:)
it is a nice place near the city. it was just for one night, but everything was fine, clean and everyone was helpfully and friendly. :)
The room that I got was not what I had booked.
Instead of a double bed, I got two single. The walls there were very thin and you could really hear everything that was next door talking.
The people I met there were very friendly and helpful and apart from the small drawbacks I mentioned above, the stay there was very pleasant.
