Our stay in the apartment has been incredible. The decor surprised us a lot and we had everything at our disposal to feel comfortable and more like being in our own home but in Palermo.
The location of the apartment allowed us to see the city completely, people, food, culture and tradition. Being here has given us a unique experience of what it means to live in Italy, in Palermo, is the closest thing to say: we lived there.
The train station is very close to the apartment, you can walk there, which has allowed us to take the train to our destinations we had wanted to visit Taormina, Agrigento, Catania, etc.
And also near the bus station which has allowed us to visit beaches like Mondello.
When we got to our little trips around the island, the apartment invited us to relax and uncork a good bottle of wine.
It is true that the city should always keep your eyes open, as they say in many guides, but then you realize how quickly you start to feel comfortable and relaxed around the neighborhood and the city.
My girlfriend and I were very happy with our stay at Pietro's home rental. The apartment was very nicely furnished (it had everything that we needed) and was very cozy. Apart from that our host, Franceska, was very helpful and agreed to meet us earlier than the usual check-in times, so we were able to leave our luggage at the apartment and we were able to have a walk around Palermo before the actual check-in took place.
In our opinion there were only two disadvantages that should be mentioned about Pietro's apartment. First, the neighbourhood it is located in, is a bit shady. For 5 minutes we forgot our car unlocked on the street right next to the apartment and by the time we got back to lock it, our stuff was already gone. The other thing that we had a problem with was the hot water. It was not enough for two consequitive showers. So one of us had to wait some time after the other had a shower in order to have hot water.
However, apart from this two issues we had, we were very happy with our choice and if we visit Palermo again, we will definitely go to Pietro's apartment!
